what I'm all about
when sharing yoga with you
I help women and men of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and lifestyles to add yoga into their lives, support them in creating a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life.
My primary focus is teaching safe and beneficial yoga practices to individuals, allowing them to tailor the practice to their everyday lives. I like to combine my knowledge of yoga, anatomy, movement, body and mind systems and how to adapt these practices to support your own healing, growth and physical or emotional lifestyle challenges.
I believe yoga can benefit many different areas of life – supporting you during pregnancy and birth, post surgery or injury rehabilitation, athletic training and recovery, alleviate anxiety and depression, promote general fitness and wellbeing.
No matter what is thrown my way, life with yoga at its heart has helped me build emotional healing and strength, keeping me physically fit and full of energy. My own experience influences the way I share and help others benefit from yoga, a powerful support structure for your life.
Helping you: achieve your goals; improve your health; to grow in strength of body and mind; and to live a life of ease, joy and passion.
SALTWATER YOGA
Why the NAme Saltwater...
Coming from the North East corner of Scotland I’ve spent most of my life within throwing distance of the Sea.
With two different coast lines to enjoy, a mix of rocky shores, sweeping golden beaches, high cliffs, sea caves, secluded bays and an abundance of sea birds and marine life from Puffins, Gannets, Seals and Basking Sharks the North Sea is teeming with life.
This wonderful coastline is where I feel the most connected and in awe of the world. A simple walk along the beach or sunrise dip clears my head, fills me with energy, renewing my soul.
This love for the sea has been handed down through the generations, my Grandmother told her story of how she found herself homesick and at a loss when living in Glasgow during WWII, how she tried to find the sea, she kept climbing the next brae or hill thinking – ‘If I could just get high enough I’ll see the sea and all will be fine” If you know Glasgow you’ll know it was a loosing battle, Glasgow is too far from the coast.
It was my Grandmother that inspired the name Saltwater Yoga Life – her life was one of hard work and a deep care for family and friends – if anyone embodied the quote from Isak Dinesen’s (Karen Blixen) it was her.
“The cure for anything is Saltwater ….
sweat, tears and the salt sea”Isak Dinesen
